BUNGALOW: BREWS & BITES

Branding- 2024

Imagine if a coffee shop, cafe, brewery, and library were merged into one. Well, meet Bungalow! This conceptual restaurant is more than just a place to grab a beverage or dine—it’s a sanctuary for locals and visitors alike. By day, the cafe offers a cozy retreat with freshly brewed coffee and artisan pastries, perfect for morning meetings or a peaceful escape. As the sun sets, the brewery portion comes to life, crafting unique, author-inspired beers. The menu of farm-to-table delights is available open to close, showcasing the best of the local farmers. Whether you are coming to meet friends, cozy up with a book, or get the family out of the house, everyone is welcome at Bungalow.

This project includes a logo suite, brand guidebook, advertisements, menus, and business mockups.

The Bungalow logo is an integral part of the visual branding, representing the business as a whole. It speaks to the value of connection and being bold. The clean, yet funky type is the metaphorical bridge between the goal to provide clean, yummy delights whilst being a welcoming place for anyone who walks through the doors.

When designing the logo, I opted for a more retro look with a modern twist. After altering the text slightly, I was able to create something recognizable. The most prominent logos are the full logo and the abbreviated logo. To add a little more variety to the branding, I created a logo with an organic shape behind it. This variation allows for a more casual display of the logo. The brand guidebook outlines the usage instructions for the logo suite. The suite also includes an animated version of the abbreviated logo.

BRAND GUIDELINES

Following the development of the branding elements, I created the guideline book to guide the client on how they would continue the Bungalow image. There are five main components: logos, colors, typography, elements, and photography. I kept the color palette earthy to create the feeling Bungalow aims to emit by using greens and warm tones. The typography selections were made to be clean and straightforward, balancing the organic nature of the branding elements. I created illustrated elements and patterns as additional imagery, using earthy colors and textures. The page includes an outline for the correct usage of texture, and the following outlines the photography style.

To feature the three aspects of Bungalow, I designed a series of three posters highlighting each. These posters are advertisements for around the city, encouraging people to check out Bungalow and all the goodness they have to offer. I opted for a textured, cut-out illustration to reflect the overall feeling of Bungalow.

MENUS

When researching and planning for Bungalow, I envisioned a clean, strictly type menu to balance out the cozy, bohemian feeling of the space. Having an easy-to-read menu takes some of the stress out of the ordering process, just leaving the difficulty of deciding what sounds the most delicious. The menu would be hung behind the counter, and paper menus would also be available.
